Gaming revenue continues to reach new heights in Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Wednesday reported $554.6 million in revenue from all forms of gaming in March, a year-over-year increase of 7.6%. The total marks the second time in three months that Pennsylvania set a new record, the previous high total, $534.2 million, reached in December 2023.
As in December, March’s total was boosted by a sharp increase in igaming revenue, which totaled $191.1 million. Online slot revenue was $135.5 million, a year-over-year increase of 29.3%., and online table-game revenue was $53.1 million, a 31.2% increase compared to March 2023. Overall, igaming revenue increased 29.0% year-over-year.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantsville led Pennsylvania casinos with gaming revenue of $88.2 million, an 8.9% increase compared to March 2023. Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia followed with revenue of $88.0 million, a year-over-year increase of 28.4%, and Parx Casino in Philadelphia generated $59.5 million, a year-over-year decrease of 1.5%.
Pennsylvania slot revenue in March had a marginal increase of 1.1%, generating $227.9 million. Parx Casino brought in $34.3 million in slot revenue, a year-over-year decline of 2.4%. Wind Creek Bethlehem generated $27.4 million, an increase of 9.8% compared to the same period in 2023, and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s slot revenue was $25.2 million, an increase of 1.3%.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National once again led the Keystone State in igaming revenue in March, generating $72.3 million, an increase of 16.0%. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted igaming revenue of $50.8.7 million, a whopping 59.7% jump, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia earned $32.7 million, up 7.2%.
Valley Forge Casino Resort’s sports-betting revenue in March reached $24.3 million from a handle of $333.2 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands followed with a handle of $209.2 million, resulting in revenue of $10.7 million. Hollywood Casino Morgantown’s sports betting revenue was $1.7 million from a handle of $51.9 million.
