Some Virginia lawmakers are laying the groundwork to re-introduce a bill to allow Fairfax County residents to vote on a referendum that, if passed, could bring a casino and conference center to Tysons.
The idea was considered earlier this year in Richmond during the legislative session, but will likely be brought up again in the next General Assembly session.
If this passes in Richmond, 7News is told by sources that Fairfax County residents would have the final say on a potential casino in Tysons.
Virginia State Senator Dave Marsden said there are a lot of benefits to a potential casino in Fairfax County.
